Chloe was born with Arthrogryposis which means she had no hips and her feet were bent up to her shins. Chloe has had many operations since then to correct this and to allow her to get up on her feet. She still uses a wheelchair 99% of the time.

At 4 years old Chloe was also diagnosed with a rare form of Muscular Dystrophy called Nemaline Myopathy. The definition of this condition is “a muscle wasting disease with no cure”. Chloe says she doesn’t suffer though, she live with the condition and lives a great life despite it.

Chloe has had many sporting adventures. From wheelchair tennis and basketball to athletics and archery. During 2014 and 2015 she represented Great Britain in Para Archery. Breaking world records and winning medals. Surgery and injury prevented her competing in 2015 but she returned to the sport in 2016 ready to compete for her place in the team for the Rio 2016 Paralympics. Another injury that year which resulted in another operation meant missing out on that years Paralympics.

Between then and now Chloe has been employed by the BBC in roles such as reporting, presenting and producing across BBC Radio Bristol, Points West and Inside Out West. After a couple of years on a contract with them she then went freelance, still working with the BBC, but also ITV within the West Country too.

Although Chloe may aim to make the games one day, she still want to continue to pursue her career as a Journalist and is excited to see what opportunities might come her way. To better her chances in the future she is currently studying a degree in Media Production at South Gloucestershire and Stroud College at their WISE Campus in Bristol

A few years ago Chloe collaborated with ASOS in creating a waterproof jumpsuit which was practical for people who use a wheelchair as well as everybody! There were over 70 reports about this from all corners of the globe including Vogue! Chloe also received a Point of Light Award from the Prime Minister in recognition of her work towards inclusivity.

This led on to opportunities presenting a podcast for BBC Sounds and Radio 1 and doing a TEDxBristol talk about the lack of inclusivity in fashion too!
